Drive Away Hunger

Participating Chevrolet Dealers
AutoTrader.com, Chevrolet and the Atlanta Braves are partnering to Drive Away Hunger. From Aug. 30-Sept. 14, test drive a new car at a participating Chevy dealership, and AutoTrader.com will donate $10 to ACFB. Better yet, bring in 10 canned goods to a participating Chevy dealership and you'll receive a voucher for a free ticket to the Atlanta Braves/Washington Nationals game on Sept. 14 (while supplies last)! Borders Bookstore Benefit and Food Drive

Weekend of Sept. 11-12
Head to any metro Atlanta Borders the weekend of Sept. 11-12 and buy some books, movies, music or more. Be sure to tell the cashier that you want to participate in the Border's Hunger Action Month promotion to benefit ACFB, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Food Bank. Borders will also be accepting canned food donations throughout the month of September.

Widespread Panic Concert & "FEEDING PEOPLE THROUGH MUSIC" Food Drive
Friday, Sept. 24th and Saturday, Sept. 25th Doors at 6:30pm, Concert starts at 7:30pm Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre Widespread Panic concert food drives first began with the fan-based organization Panic Fans for Food. Fans hosted food drives at WP shows from 1999-2007, with the goal of "feeding people through music." The effort generated $70,000 and 13 tons of food in 28 cities and was handed off to the band in early 2008. Since then, WP has been hosting food drives at select shows on their tours. You can support WP’s Feeding People Through Music initiative when the band comes in September! Get more details about the food drive here. ACFB volunteers will be out at both shows, accepting both canned food and monetary donations.

design/build competition with a unique way to help feed hungry
people. Competing teams, lead by architects and engineers,
showcase their talents by designing giant sculptures made
entirely out of canned and packaged foods. At the close of the
exhibitions all of the food used in the structures is donated
to the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
