What is it?
Learn to cook in a state-of-the-art teaching facility as the finest chefs in Metro Atlanta donate their talents, time and ingredients. During the two-hour sessions chefs prepare, on average, three recipes and share samples with participants.

Where and When
Classes are held in four locations, The Cook's Warehouse in Brookhaven, The Cook's Warehouse in Midtown, The Cook's Warehouse in Decatur and The Kroger School of Cooking in Alpharetta.

Cost/Tuition
Costs vary depending on level of participation, ranging from $40 to $150.
One-hundred percent of class tuition benefits Atlanta's Table, a project of the Atlanta Community Food Bank.

Classes are on a first-come, first-served basis and fill up quickly.
Please note that the non-refundable class tuition fee is required at the time of registration. Cancellation Policy: Cancellation is accepted no later than 48 hours prior to the scheduled class. No cash refunds will be given. A one-time class credit will be issued, based upon schedule availability.

Traditional North Indian Cuisine

Experience the culinary world of delicious Indian cuisine. Students will learn how to prepare a traditional North Indian meal including Bengan Bharta - roasted eggplant, Alu Gobhi - potato and cauliflower with ginger, Saag Paneer - creamed spinach with Indian cheese, Chicken Tikka Masala - Tandoori chicken in a tomato cream sauce, Peas Pullao - Basmati rice with peas and whole spices, Raita - cucumber yogurt sauce, and Chapati - whole wheat flat bread. Join French-trained chef and cookbook author Virginia Willis as she features seasonal, fresh recipes from her new cookbook, Bon Appétit Y'all: Recipes and Stories from Three Generations of Southern Cooking. Publishers Weekly says, "Magnificent color photos; detailed, helpful tips; and Willis's cheerful, trustworthy guidance makes this an original and welcome newcomer to a classic cookbook library." You'll enjoy great recipes, tips, and classic technique as Virginia demonstrates what critics are calling "refined Southern cuisine." Now, with Chef Barquera's help, you can relish and recreate some of those dishes. Whether you're a pro, novice our just curious about how each is done, tonight's class will definitely prove to be quite informative as Chef Hopkins instructs the class in not only how to pickle, cure and preserve certain food items but also how to incorporate those items into final dishes. Students will learn how to pickle vegetables to prepare Old Fashioned Chow Chow for Heirloom Tomato Salad with Chow Chow and Fresh Chevre; cure hog jowl to make Italian guanciale for Late Harvest Sweet Skillet Corn with Guanciale and Charred Onions; and preserve peaches for Brandy Preserved 'End of Summer' Georgia Peaches with Shortcake and Clabbered Cream.
