The annual Hunger Walk began in 1984 as an all-volunteer grassroots movement.

Since 1988 it has become a year round project of the Atlanta Community Food Bank, who coordinates the event for a partnership of six benefiting Hunger Relief organizations serving Metro Atlanta and North Georgia.

In 2011 Hunger Walk/Run brought out more than 13,000 participants who raised over half a million dollars! (Learn more about Hunger Walk/Run 2012 and the hunger relief organizations who benefit.)
