What is Kids In Need?

The Kids In Need program provides school supplies to teachers in low-income schools by inviting them to shop in our climate controlled Kids in Need warehouse.  Kids in Need offers volunteer opportunities for both groups and individuals Monday – Friday.  Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to assist with this program.

Group volunteer opportunities:  Small groups of 5-12 volunteers (ages 16 and up) are needed to help with sorting and restocking inventory. Group volunteer projects can be scheduled Monday – Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Individual Volunteer opportunities: Individuals are needed as shopping assistants for teachers. Shopping Assistants are asked to make an ongoing commitment to a 3 hour shift either once a week or once every two weeks for one or more semesters.  There are two semesters each year, August - December and January - May. (Volunteers can start at any point during the school year.) Shifts run Mondays thru Thursdays, 3:00 pm – 5:30 pm.
