Hunger Action Month Kicks Off With New Look!

You may have noticed something new about the Food Bank today!

As we kick off Hunger Action Month, we are launching our new logo and tagline. We are so excited to show off our new look and hope it inspires you to Go Orange with us this month.

Our new look holds up two things we value most: our community and nutritious food. The new logo features a hand holding a peach, which signifies both giving and receiving fresh food. The bold orange color scheme echoes the national color of hunger awareness and conveys a sense of urgency around the issue. The new tagline “End Hunger. Grow Stronger “ sends a clear message that by ending hunger not only do individuals grow stronger, so does our community.

We believe a refreshed, updated logo and tagline will help us send a message that hunger remains a critical and solvable issue – one that we can tackle together.

So, this month, we are looking for your support!

The Food Bank is hosting a variety of ways to get engaged during Hunger Action Month:

  • A special Hunger Action Day lunchtime event Sept. 8 from 11:30am-1:30pm at Atlantic Station’s Central Park, featuring local chef and restaurateur Shaun Doty and Meehan’s Public House. Grab a tasty treat and enjoy live music as the chefs prepare orange color-inspired bites. The event is sponsored by Publix.

  • Join our “Bring A Lunch, Give A Lunch” promotion during the Hunger Action Day event and make a donation.

  • Walk our Hunger Wall. Hunger Action Day participants will have an opportunity to learn more about the issue of hunger and support the cause.
  • Visit our Hunger Action Month page for ways to volunteer, engage and get involved and follow #hungeractionmonth across social media channels.

  • Print out your copy of "30 Ways in 30 Days" calendar and make a month-long commitment to fight hunger.

As we embark on a new ten-year strategic plan, The Atlanta Community Food Bank has launched plans to dramatically increase the amount of fresh, nutritious food that we distribute to hungry families, kids and seniors who are struggling to put food on the table across our community.

Under that plan, we have a bold goal: By 2025, all hungry people in our service area will have access to the nutritious meals they need when they need them.

We need more people to understand that hunger is prevalent in our community and to ignite a compelling sense of urgency to do something about it. Our new look helps us hold up the critical issue of hunger, helps people know that we are here to help, and signals to the community that we need them now more than ever. Imagine what we can accomplish together!

We’re excited to finally unveil this new look, and we hope you will wear your new Food Bank colors proudly!
