To try and tell the Atlanta Community Food Bank’s story in a short video is no easy task. The last time we did a video about the Food Bank was in 2007. The video has been shown thousands of times to donors, volunteers, partner agencies, Hunger 101 groups and more. It served us very well for many years, but as we’ve grown, and our story has changed, we knew it was time for a new video. And we’re so excited to share it with you now.
Every person in this video is genuine. From our volunteers and staff members to our partner agencies and the people they serve, each person has spoken from the heart on the issue that brings us all together: hunger. We’d love to give a special thanks to Oleta Herron of Marietta Church of God for helping us find some of the clients in this video. And we are so grateful to the clients for being open to share their challenges and how their lives have been impacted by the help they’ve received.
So, how did such a major endeavor come to fruition? We were so fortunate that one of our advisory board members, Sheryl Myers, of Stateline Films, was not only willing to produce this video, but pulled together amazing people to help us. She, along with George Watkins of Synergy Films as our director, worked with us during every step of the process to ensure that we were telling our whole story in a way that’s never been done before. Directors of Photography Phil Dillon and Jordan McMonagle worked behind the camera on two days of shooting with two incredible, hard-working crews. Every crew member donated their time and talent to help us make this movie and we are appreciative to each and every one of them.
The making of this video was truly a labor of love. We encourage you to take a few minutes to watch and learn more about the Food Bank, what we do and why we do it. Don’t forget to share it with your friends, family, co-workers--everyone you know!
