As we eagerly await the start of a new baseball season, the Atlanta Braves have been working their way through the Southeast giving back and meeting fans along the way with the Braves Caravan. Today, they made their stop at the Atlanta Community Food Bank, volunteering with staff in the Product Rescue Center (PRC) and on the grocery floor.
General Manager Frank Wren, Braves alumni Don Sutton, Brian Jordan and Marquis Grissom, members of the Braves 400 Fan Club, Braves staff, and Homer the Brave spent the morning learning about the Food Bank before they were split into two groups. One group sorted food in the PRC; the other helped agencies load their vehicles and sorted produce on the grocery floor.
We appreciate the support the Atlanta Braves have given us through the years—it’s a relationship that has spanned over 20 years. From using Turner Field as the start and finish line for the Hunger Walk/Run (don’t forget to register for March 9!) to Strike Out Hunger to a long-standing partnership with John Smoltz, the Braves have been amazing. Thanks so much to everyone who volunteered today!
